Nara is a city in Japan. It's filled with amazing temples (as Nara was the capital during some key temple-building times in the 8th century.) Todai-ji, a Buddhist temple, includes in the complex the largest wooden building in the world, which houses the largest bronze image of Vairocana Buddha in the world.

Great Buddha Hall (Daibutsuden)

But the real reason to go to Nara is that the town is filled with tame deer who roam all over! Apparently they are really adorable and vicious if you have deer biscuits in your pockets. Some of the deer have learned to bow in response to tourists' bows, and holy shit.
